Here is today's work in progress. This is a free formed fiberglass bowl that I created. I have kept it very natural with no sanding. In person it seems to resemble frozen water. My new materials I have chosen to replace the seagrass have proven a difficult challenge but it only took a row of coiling to realize how delicate this piece will look. My goal is to coil about 6 inches using the copper wire. Note to self, copper wire is very time consuming to coil but the end effect is well worth it. I estimate untitled 124 to be 16 X 16 completed.

material frustration
For untitled 124, I was planning on using straight sea grass strands to coil around my fiberglass base. Unfortunately I ran into a difficult situation. The closest supplier I have doesn't have any available in stock. I have checked several other suppliers and no luck. If I were to order it today, I won't receive it in time to complete my piece. So this being said, I am going to have to change my design elements a little bit for this piece. With the deadline so close, I don't have a lot of time for experimenting with new materials.
By the end of this week, I should have an almost completed picture posted of untitled 123 and 124. I am still drawing the revised sketches of 124.
Here's to busy times and experimenting with new ideas and keeping deadlines!
